Summary
Things weren't the same after Clone Force 99 was asked to stop by Aq Vetina that day. There wasn't much to save, other than the settlement's sole survivor: a young boy named Din Djarin, whose curiosity and desire for brotherhood outweighed his trauma—almost as much as his knowledge of Mandalorians did.
The Bad Batch all knew it wasn't a good idea to take care of a kid in the middle of a war, but when Din settled in so perfectly with their family so quickly, it was impossible to imagine him anywhere else. It wasn't much longer until he had young company, anyway, even if things were only getting more hectic with the war coming to an end.
In this galaxy far, far away, it's experimental unit Clone Force 99 that saves Din Djarin instead of the Mandalorians, forever altering not only his fate, but also their own. How they manage to survive with not one, but two young soldiers-in-training under their wings proves just how far they're willing to go to keep their family's missing piece as close as possible.

Echo stared at the batchers, currently snuggled into a pile. “Are they dead?”
“Obviously not, as they are breathing,” Tech answered. “It was the storm.”
Hunter's scared of storms?"
"No. He is affected by the lightning."
Chapter One: After an electrical storm, Echo finds out just how sensitive Hunter is to electricity.
Chapter Two: After a mission ends with three Batchers in the med bay, Echo maintains his vigil over his wounded siblings. Then he gets a call from Rex and realizes Hunter might have been hiding more than a migraine.
Chapter Three: Hunter didn't make it back to the Marauder. Echo goes looking for him after Rex's call, hoping his injuries aren't as bad the captain thinks. They're not -- they're worse.
Chapter Four: In medical, Kix and the other medics try to decode what exactly is wrong with Hunter, but his enhancements are classified and Tech is still in bacta. Echo and Rex delve deeper into the mystery of the 99s and learn more than they wanted to know.
Chapter Five: Hunter wakes up and Echo finds out why the tracker received the brunt of the attack. He can't be angry, though, when his adopted sibling needs him.
