Summary
“Yo, Nakamura!”, Takeuchi, surprisingly, had been the one to speak up towards the quiet boy, “what do you wanna do when you leave school?”, he’d asked, subsequently including him into the conversation.“… be a marine biologist.”
“Whaaaat? That’s way too hard!”, Takeuchi groaned, having found Nakamura’s answer to be of no help when it came to deciding what he’d wanted to do. “You smart people have it all figured out. If you become one, you’ll be super rich, too!”
“… I hope so,”, the dark haired teen answered honestly, his cheeks turning a charming tint of crimson as he’d looked away from the three, “I’d like to spoil my partner so that they never need to work, unless they’d like to.”
“Ugh-!”, Takeuchi grumbled upon hearing the other speak, pouting very visibly as he’d noticed that Kawamura and her friends had been watching the boys talk very intently, “you better not try taking Yuuka from me with that talk, you hear?!”
“I’ve no intention of doing that. Ever.”, Nakamura deadpanned immediately, the sudden, utter seriousness of his tone making Hirose chuckle.
——Or, Hirose finding out he has a crush.

Summary
The Sol Empire is a place of peace and plenty...most of the time. Ten years after the noble hedgehogs of House Erin were scattered and killed in a mysterious attack, a few survivors remain; a blue hedgehog impatiently practices his emerging magical gift of speed, in a hidden location. On the frontline of the Empire's battlefields, a silver-furred hero remains engaged by the bonds of duty, and tears his way up the ranks with channelled fury and grief. The vassal family House Rose were left undisturbed in their own lands, too inconsequential to be worth attacking...until, one day, the long-lost heir of House Erin comes to their doorstep with red streaks in his coal-black fur, and a horrifying tale to tell.
Where has Shadow been? Will the home of Baron Rose, and his daughter Amy, prove a safe refuge? Where was the other heir concealed, to grow to adulthood? And with Imperial Princess Blaze under political pressure to find a husband, will House Erin's hedgehogs once again come to the aid of the Empire when it needs them most?
