Summary
Monsters don't truly exist. Even after a questionable mission, Soap had no reason to doubt that truth. That is until he gets a top secret assignment. All he knows is that he would be working under a man named Price. Now faced with the supernatural, how will he cope keeping the world safe from the things that go bump in the night. All while learning to work with a new team. Especially since one of them doesn't seem to keen on him being there.
My strange attempt at putting the 141 into the Monster Hunter Inc world.

Summary
“That’s really smart and intuitive of you. These activities are not meant to be followed exactly because people think through and process things differently. It sounds like you’re a very visual and tactile person, so you found a way to make it work for you. I’m really glad you kept trying and didn’t give up, though that would have been fine as well.”
“Mmthanks” Soap mumbles and moves back to fully sit in his chair. He is definitely not thinking about the ways Simon is visual and tactile as well.
Simon hands Soap his journal and waits for Soap to say anything more. Which he doesn’t because he can’t because Simon has said things to him that no one has ever said. It’s the opposite of his nightmare from last week. He’s sitting in the office of someone who would’ve been his superior if they were still enlisted and he’s being told he’s talented and intuitive like it’s nothing. But it’s not nothing. It’s everything.
~~
Three months after being medically discharged, Soap is feeling aimless and in need of support. He goes to his local Veterans Association and meets with social worker Simon Riley, who helps him find a new way forward

Summary
When taken hostage on their latest mission Ghost gets dosed with truth serum. Rescued before his captors are able to get anything from him, Ghost is free to go home with his team. He quickly finds out that being rescued also means being stuck with his team while still under the effects of the truth serum. There are a lot of things that he doesn’t particularly want his team to know about him. Maybe a few things that he doesn’t want his Sergeant to know about him and about the way he feels…
Or: Ghost is under the influence of a truth serum and is trying his best to not confess his love for Soap.

Summary
Listen, this is not a super original set of ideas. I just thought that the trope where Soap is told to shut up paired with him getting buried alive like Ghost was needed to exist together. So enjoy the angst and the inevitable comfort. >:3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone in Soap's life has told him he's just too much. Not in the 141 though. But that can't last forever. He's bound to mess it up soon. It seems to happen on a particular mission, when Johnny gets trapped in a grave with a corpse. When the team realizes where they've made him wait for so long, they feel nothing but regret. Particularly Ghost, who is all too familiar with spending time underground...
Summary
John “Soap” MacTavish never liked the silence, but he knew it was necessary.
John would describe himself as a very likable person. Albeit loud, he made friends everywhere he went with his outgoing and easy personality. Overall, he was an easy person to get along with.
The only catch was he talked a shit ton.
--OR--
The popular plotline where the 141 tells Soap to shut up. Only this time, Soap has had enough.
Summary
Soap paused, picking up the pen. He looked over his list. Three columns, “yes”, “no”, and “maybe”. He pulled the paper close. Hesitating, he underlined a single item, then crossed out the rest of them one by one. When he finished, he looked back at Ghost, as if daring him to say something about it. When Ghost didn’t, Soap pushed the paper over, crossing his arms over his chest.
Underlined was “kneeling” under “yes”, the only thing left on the page. It didn’t matter what the other “yes” items had been, they were very clearly in the “no” column now.
Ghost forced himself not to feel frustrated, had to admit to himself that Soap might be the most challenging sub he had ever had assigned into one of his units.
