    Summary

Nancy’s hair has been cut short. Like, short-short- shorter than Robin’s ever was, shorter than Dustin’s, hell, it might be about the same length as Steve’s. It glimmers with golden-brown undertones in the sun. It still falls in waves, cropped closer to Nancy’s head in a way that Robin would never have imagined her friend going for. And the way it curls at the nape of her neck- god, Robin is fucking screwed.

    or

Nancy gets a haircut. Robin feels totally normal about it.

“So,” Mom says one weekend afternoon as she and Robin stare down the Sunday Times crossword, huddled together on the porch swing, “you and Steve Harrington sure have been living in each other’s pockets lately.” She puts down the pen and gives Robin a carefully-probing smile disguised as a teasing one. “Anything you wanna tell me?”

Yeah; I’m gay, Robin thinks. Her throat constricts painfully. “I—you’d know if I were dating someone,” she says instead.

"You're illegal," Valentina says, blunt, impatient, annoyed.

    "Undocumented," Mel corrects hastily.

"And?" Yelena raises an eyebrow. "Would you like one of my many entirely legitimate American passports?" She folds her arms lazily over her chest.

"The world knows your real name now." Valentina folds her hands primly in her lap. "Your passports won't help you. You need another way to legitimize yourself. This is the fastest way."

    Summary

Faith has never come easy to Beatrice-- it always was a business, a honed skill, a shield against the empty lonely childhood and a grating aching adolescence shunted out of sight by her disappointed parents-- but she’s had faith in Ava since the minute they stood outside of a tomb in the Vatican catacombs and Beatrice realized that she brought the dynamite as a backup to Ava out of habit instead of actual worry. She’d always known Ava would do what they needed, would succeed and find her way through her own fear, and Ava hadn’t disappointed her.

Michael came back. Lilith came back. Ava hasn’t disappointed her yet, and she won’t start now.

    Summary

Ava clicks her tongue. “Well. I could help.”
Beatrice blinks a couple of times. “Help…?”
    “You know.” She grins. “Help.”
It takes Beatrice a full two seconds; it should not be such a surprise that Ava is offering something like that, but, still, it catches her off guard. “Ava. Please lower your voice.”
Ava laughs, but she obeys: when she speaks again, her volume is lower. “I’m being serious! Think about it. I’m good at sex, if I say so myself. You trust me. I’m super hot…”

OR: After leaving her religious life and her title of Sister, Beatrice finds peace in routine, tea, and the comfort of a local bar; especially when Ava, the bartender and her new best friend, is working.
When Beatrice confesses she has never had sex and is terrified of being… bad at it, Ava makes an offer: what if they just did it? As a favor. As a learning experience. No feelings involved.
But Beatrice already has a secret crush on Ava. And Ava, it turns out, is about to fall harder.
Virginity is a social construct. Unfortunately, so is pretending not to be in love.
