"Putting honey in the lion’s mouth, Brucie?“ Jerome’s voice runs warm behind Bruce‘s ear. It rolls over his neck and close to his spine like a solemn but ardent reminder of death. "It’ll eat you up. It eats everything.“ He pauses, years caught in one halt of breath. “It ate me.“
It‘s a trap. Bruce should know better than to encourage him. He should take measures now, hit Jerome in the unprotected pit of his stomach and flee while he tumbles over in pain since otherwise he’ll never leave this circle of hate and sickened obsession they’ve built with their fists and half-deaths. But he can‘t find no reason to. He doesn‘t want to dig that deep. For once in his life, he doesn‘t want to strive for being any better than he actually is.He’s the young hero Gotham sets its hopes on, and Jerome is a murderer who’s lost the wheel ages ago. Outdated roles for an outdated story.
'What a terrible, terrific match we make', he muses, yanks Jerome back on his hair and kisses him with all the self-disgust and desperation he can muster. 'We’ll never get along. We‘ll destroy each other, and call it love.'
But when Jerome kisses back, starved and angry, Bruce knows that it won‘t matter. He already made the choice.

Summary
Metal knows what Sonic is doing. He is trying to get on his nerves, to taunt him. To make him lose his temper. He wants so much to rip that cocky smile out from Sonic’s face, to stab him in his soft, fragile chest, to drip all of Sonic’s disgusting and wet blood, to grab Sonic’s squishy and nasty beating heart and smash it. As much as the image fills Metal with pure revulsion, it also brings him a sense of satisfaction.

Nacho definitely remembered dying.
He remembered holding a gun to Bolsa’s head, knowing that even if he pulled the trigger, he would be gunned down in an instant.
He hadn’t wanted to give those assholes the satisfaction of shooting him. He did it himself.
He thought he might remember being dead. There was definitely a sense that time had passed. But… his death had been quick. There was no light at the end of a tunnel; his life hadn’t flashed before his eyes. He had pulled the trigger, and then he was gone. He hadn’t even had time to register the sound of the gunshot.
But when he finally managed to claw his way out of the dirt that covered him, he was alone. No Salamancas, no Fring and his goons, no Bolsa.
And there was a sense of… blackness, he supposed. Like when you wake up after sleeping; even when you can’t remember any dreams, your mind knows that time has passed.
It felt a little like that.
(Nacho wakes up in the desert more than four years after his death. With the Salamancas' iron grip on the drug trade gone, he meets Jesse Pinkman and Walter White.)
