When Betelgeuse doesn't leave Lydia on the hook for anything after doing her a favor, she becomes suspicious and does the only sensible thing one could do in this situation. She starts staging porn set ups and asking him for increasingly trivial favors to try and bait him into showing his hand. He hasn't lost interest in her, has he? Not that she wants him to be interested.
