Summary
Gavin and Nines hate each other, at least... that's how it seems. See, Gavin had already grown slightly attached to Nines, it's been a year after all.
However, after chasing Connor, the ex-detective android turned deviant in an attempt to get his help, Nines is shot and... well, gets shut down.
Being an android, he comes back. Though Gavin doesn't trust him fully, he misses the original Nines. However feelings are rekindled, albeit slowly, and others are felt for the first time.
Basically, Gavin's sad because he watched Nines "die". Nines helps him, and they both fall in love, yippee!

Summary
With CyberLife in disarray after the android uprising -- and the red ice trade still at large -- Gavin and Nines get involved in an investigation on Zlatko Andronikov's family being one of the largest providers of the drug. The most effective method to put a stop to it involves Nines putting on the charm, but obstacles occur, and too late do they realize the danger. Keeping their feelings for one another concealed is a challenge in itself (...and Nines' constant teasing ensured that it was only a matter of time before Gavin's metaphorical leash would snap.)
