Jude lleva toda la noche aburrido en una boda real que le importa un carajo, atrapado entre copas de champán y sonrisas de plástico, cuando desde el otro lado del salón una mirada le golpea el pecho como un puñetazo. Erling Haaland, heredero al trono de Noruega, lo observa con una intensidad animal que no se molesta en disimular, y Jude, que ya lleva tres copas encima y cero paciencia para el protocolo, decide que quiere ver hasta dónde llega ese descaro. Se escapa sin decir nada hacia la zona de servicio, donde los invitados no tienen permitido entrar y a estas horas no queda nadie, sintiendo cada paso del noruego detrás de él como una corriente eléctrica en la nuca. Lo que explota entre ellos en ese armario oscuro no es tierno ni romántico ni mucho menos calculado: es hambre pura, visceral, dos hombres que se arrancan la ropa y se devoran sin preguntarse el nombre, dejándose la piel marcada y el pulso desbocado. Cuando se separan, sin ceremonias de despedida, Jude se dice que ha sido solo una noche, un desliz, una anécdota que no volverá a repetirse.

''A friend of Dorothy's…?'' He tries, but Will just scratches his head as they make eye contact, Richie clearly looking for something in his eyes.
