“Val, do it.” She recognizes the popping static of ghost speak. Danny raises his head and the pain in his eyes is gone, replaced with grim, angry determination.
She opens her mouth to respond, but he stops her.
“Don’t reply, just shoot me. If you do it, you’re free.”

Valerie and Danny are kidnapped by the GIW due to their anomalous ectoplasmic radiation readings. In the lab, they're put trough testing to determine whether or not they still count as human. Danny struggles with the cost of keeping his secrets to avoid hurting Valerie, while Valerie grapples with the real ramifications of her suit’s technology and how ghostly she's becoming. Together they must both face their truths if they want to get out alive.

Summary
Harry Potter had won the second wizarding war, fought against the darkness and brought back the light. If only the same could be said for his own life nowadays.
Luz Noceda is a bright, eccentric girl, but despite her best efforts there's a constant shadow cast over her she just can't throw off. And now with her mother finally sending her away to camp for her weirdness it's become harder than ever to keep going.
And then they both get stranded together on the Boiling Isles, with no way out. But maybe that's just what they needed.

According to her favorite book, she’d meet an old lady who would teach her to be a witch and get into all sorts of mischief, along with an adorable little demon roommate to adventure with. Instead she stumbles into a grumpy, paranoid, mysterious wizard who has as little knowledge on this place as she does, now tasked with keeping her safe, their way home long gone.
Harry Potter and Luz Noceda get stranded together on the Boiling Isles, but maybe that might not be such a bad thing.
