Summary
John now has some idea about what happened to him. He’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. There’s a solution to his predicament that might either save or kill him, and that lies in Atlantis.
SG-1 has a plan to block more Ori vessels from invading the Milky Way galaxy. While one half of the team goes off to put that plan into action, John goes along with the other half to visit Atlantis.
Unpleasant surprises await them when they step into the Ancient City, and things take infinitely worse turns before they start getting remotely better.

Summary
Having finally put his demons to rest, John Porter didn’t expect to survive the aftermath of his last mission. It certainly wasn’t a cause for celebration when he did, since his short-lived reprieve frizzled out with his capture by the CIA.
There would be no rescue. The CIA would do their best to use him and dispose of him when he inevitably proved he wasn’t worth the effort. Those were the irrefutable facts.
When the salvation arrives in the most unexpected manner possible, John might have to revise that conclusion and accept that there might be one more mission to see through before he could hand over the reins for good.

Summary
Detective John Sheppard's life took a wrong turn when something from a higher plane intervened. Not that he ever knew. After decades of watching his life spiral down a drain, he thought he regained some of his dignity back by saving the world.
He died for his troubles.
Or so he figured until it became clear he didn't.
Instead, he was given a chance to fix things; in his own life and the world around him.
Now, living his life in a wholly new direction, as it should have been, he has a lot of inner demons to battle, relationships to navigate and aliens to meet and kill.
All the while hoping he could live up to the expectations and achieve the task he had been trusted with by the meddling Ascended beings.
