    Summary

    Echo is still new to the Batch, and has been struggling with adjusting to life with his new squad and his new body. The Batch manages to get a few days rest on Kamino after a run of missions, and something pushes Crosshair to finally try introduce Echo into the intimate side of the squad, opening up new dynamics among the five of them. Nothing is without complications, and Echo’s unsteadiness provides some new challenges, but they will always have each other’s backs.

    After struggling to earn the respect of the unique members of Clone Force 99, Doc stops at nothing to justify the faith they've placed in her by keeping them safe through the endless horrors of war. What she doesn't expect, however, is just how deep the connection between them becomes, adding endless complications to already impossible tasks set before them.

    This is an extensive series of consecutive arcs based on the 2023 Febuwhump challenge that has become a massive anthology following Doc and the boys. The first two arcs are also posted separately in Doc's Misadventures series, but I've elected to begin posting them all to one fic instead. This work deals with extreme scenarios so please pay attention to warnings at the beginning of each chapter.

    Irreparable regrets physically ache, Echo realizes, as he lays in his borrowed bunk. They feel like a crushing weight on his chest, pressing the air out of his lungs, making his breathing come in short, measured gasps. He doesn’t want to wake his squad mates, doesn’t want to alert the one on watch that he is not taking grateful advantage of this opportunity to sleep. But he can’t sleep, because familiar faces haunt the darkness behind his eyelids. Exhaustion isn’t enough to claim him this sleep cycle, and so he stares at the bunk above him, trying to regulate his breathing, trying to blink back the burning tears of longing weariness and deep pitted sorrow.

    Echo is comforted by his new brother.

    Echo is still getting used to being around Clone Force 99 and their accompanied weirdness. It gets even weirder when he's informed that as a side-effect of his enhancements, Hunter views himself as the sexually dominant alpha over his batch - with Echo now included. This already complicates his own personal demons of lack of self-worth and trauma. Fortunately (?) the Batch are there to help.

    (This isn't an A/B/O Omegaverse fic. With exception of Hunter, secondary gender characteristics are not a thing)
