You, the reader, are the biologist in an expedition team sent to discover the cause of the anomaly. The anomaly is what the media began to call a remote reach of the Swiss Alps where wilderness was expanding and encroaching on human developments with alarming speed. You and the rest of the expedition team were sent to finish what others had failed; to find the cause of this anomaly and live to report. As was the way of things, the governments funding these expeditions believed that once the root cause was found, the anomaly could be eliminated. As if this anomalous tide of nature was yet another enemy on which to wage war. Unlike your comrades and those before you, you weren’t sure if this anomaly was a bad thing.
