She sees Lottie’s eyebrow raise, lips pursing ever so slightly as Shauna pushes herself back from the bar, giving into everything inside her that’s screaming at her to interrupt them and stop this. She’s stopped by a hand, lightly grasping at her forearm, tightening ever so slightly. She looks up, and Lottie shakes her head – gesturing towards them in a way that Shauna assumes she’s supposed to get.
She doesn’t get it. Not until she manages to make out the way Lottie mouths she’s flirting. Oh.
So, there’s that.
Jackie Taylor likes girls. Shauna doesn’t know why she feels so weird about it.

Summary
Shauna gawks at her, then stubbornly shakes her head. Like, why the fuck is Jackie pushing her so much? Usually, Jackie is a fun, cuddly drunk. She’s not prone to act like a stone-cold, annoying-ass bitch after a few drinks. And, well. Shauna’s so not equipped to deal with this, which is why she quickly decides that her best option is to just make a beeline straight out of Lottie's massive house. “Jackie, no. I’m leaving. And you’re going to go outside and have fun with your awesome boyfriend,” Shauna snarks, in a somewhat squeaky voice. And, of course, Shauna’s pathetically nimble voice just spurs Jackie to shake her heavy head in response. There’s a sly smile creeping onto her lips, which just makes Shauna’s aggravations triple. “Jesus Christ, Jackie. You made such a big deal about getting with Jeff tonight. So– so why don’t you just leave me the fuck alone!”
Or: The plane crash and the Shauna/Jeff thing still happen (eventually), but Shauna and Jackie start sneaking around months before both occur. This fic will track the events leading to Shauna's decision to join the cult.

Summary
Ava does do the YouTube thing, actually, thank you very much. Mostly to her own surprise. Beatrice always has faith in her, but Ava knows that, historically speaking, her interest in something can crank up to eleven and then entirely dissipate without warning.
But she gets a little stand to hold her phone up, and brings over the lamp from Beatrice’s desk to add a bit of extra light to the kitchen, and films herself trying to make croissants.
Perhaps she should’ve started with something easier. Like, a lot easier. But by the time she’s realised that the pastry is an absolute disaster, she’s already made a bunch of good jokes to the camera, and so she decides this is what Beatrice would call a sunk cost fallacy and commits to it.

Ava starts a dumb YouTube channel where she makes complicated recipes badly. Maybe people show up for that, but they kind of stick around for her conversations with her roommate - who stays off-screen. Mostly.
