    Summary

They weren't going to make it. Anakin knew it immediately, the building was coming down and there was nothing Anakin could do to stop it. But he could save them. His clones, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan were all ahead of him as they ran for the entrance. He couldn't let them die. He couldn't. So he stopped running, raised his hands and summoned the force from within, tapping into the raw power that he knew he possessed. Obi-Wan stopped and turned to see Anakin standing there, his eyes widened as he realized what Anakin was about to do and he took a step towards Anakin.

    Summary

On the battlefield, Anakin’s body fell finally, his unshakable strength at long last failing him. His lightsaber losing its light beside him. Dust swirled around him, the air vibrating with the Force’s fury. The ground beneath him seemed to tremble, reacting to the shock of the loss. Even the dying sun seemed to dim in response.

    Summary

Here’s a slightly different version of “A Sun Destroyed” where Anakin dies in Rex’s arms, surrounded by the clones who have followed him through every battle — his men, his brothers. Grief, loyalty, and the weight of losing not just a general, but the man who made them more than numbers hits them all like a bomb.

“Bronn once asked me… how do I want to go?”
Tears welled in her eyes. “Jaime…”
“I wanted to die… in the arms of the woman I loved.”
Her breath hitched. He gave her a small, knowing smile.
    “Thank you.”

    Summary

"Oh, my dear Frodo, my dear boy how could I have let him go off just like that! With my terrible, cursed ring?!"

His feet stumble on the carpet and Thorin lurches forward to grasp the halfling by the shoulder. He's gentle, worried that he may snap the frail Bilbo in two if he pulls him back too hard. There's a stuttered sigh and Bilbo eases back into the taller dwarf; Thorin can remember a time where the hobbit's head would be held at least as high as his shoulder, but at one-hundred-and-twenty-eight, the halfling now bowed lowly at the breastplate of his shining, royal armour.

"Easy, ghivashel," he says softly to him, and cautiously turns the hobbit so he can look him directly in those remarkable honey-brown eyes, "I will follow their trail and make sure that no harm comes to the boy."

Bilbo sniffs. "You will keep an eye on Frodo?"

    "You have my word."
