Summary
Something in Keigo's chest fluttered at the thought of being like an anchor for Touya, to be someone that Touya trusted enough to lean on figuratively and literally. Keigo reached up with the hand that wasn't holding Touya's hand under the table to brush away Touya's hair from his closed eyes, but his body tensed when he felt eyes on the both of them.
He froze under the feeling of being watched, his heart racing in his chest in fear.
Or, Keigo still feels the shadows from his past hovering behind him.

Dabi's eyes were on him and his gaze was so intense and unwavering that it sent a shiver down his spine. Hawks had come to realize that he had become addicted to how Dabi looked at him: with want and fascination and something else that he hid so well that Hawks couldn't recognize it at all.
Hawks was no angel, but if Dabi wanted him to play the role of one, then he would become one for him. If Dabi wanted to ruin him, break his halo and rip out his feathers, then he would let him.
(And what a dangerous thought it was: to let someone like Dabi ruin him and be content enough with it to not stop him. But then again, he had always been a little too eager to corrupt himself.
Hawks supposed that it meant some fallen angels had chosen their doom themselves. He found himself relating to them.)

Everything had turned hazy. Hawks' footsteps were heavy as if he had been shackled. Something sharp pierced his chest as he stood next to the two brothers. Despite his best efforts, his gaze fell on Dabi and it took all his willpower to not fall on his knees right there and then.
"I'm not going to live much," Dabi said as they sat on the couch together. "I'm planning to attend my own funeral in the end."
"How dramatic of you," Hawks teased him lightly, but later, when he was writing the word 'suicidal' in his report to the Commission about Dabi, his hand had slowly trembled.

Home had always been a foreign concept for Keigo.
After the war, he moved to another place. It was smaller, and he didn't have much to decorate the place with, but it still didn't feel like home to him. Sometimes, he felt like the walls were closing in on him, suffocating and threatening him to crush him under their weight while shadows crawled towards him across the floor as he curled into himself, but he stayed optimistic that, one day, he would find his home.
And he did, but he never thought he would be sharing that place with Touya Todoroki of all people.

After the raid, the next time Dabi saw Hawks again was only days later.

The thing was, deep down, Hawks had always known it. He was no fool. He just refused to face it. If he kept himself in the dark, if he gave himself no intention of reading too deeply between the lines, if he looked away from all the words that hung unsaid between him and Dabi, then later he could claim he didn't suspect anything. It would have made it easier for him to handle his mission without any unnecessary emotions and memories.
Hawks finally faces the truth.
