Summary
The path of a mudang, a spiritual medium whose purpose was to serve the Gods and protect humanity, was never meant to be an easy one. And for Rumi, who sang to strengthen the invisible threads of the Honmoon by day and conquered the evil that slipped through its tears by night, the secret she harbored meant hers was bound to be one of great hardship. The fragile balance of three identities - idol, huntress, and demon - would always be too much; the line between holding and breaking constantly at war with itself. So when the three sides collide and collapse in a way she doesn't know how to recover from, Rumi begins to drown. How does one pick up the pieces when everything she touches falls apart at her feet?

“I’d like to thank all of you for coming today. I’m Mira Kang. You can call me chef while in class,” A slightly deep, soothing voice sounded from the back of the room. Rumi began chewing like a woman on a mission, hoping to finish off the last few pearls that swished around in her mouth as she felt the chef pass behind her. “We’re going to be starting off simple today. First, I’ll teach you how to properly prepare your ingredients for bibimbap and then we’ll move on to making the rice and we’ll go from there.”
Rumi glanced around as a few of the older women began whispering amongst each other and looking towards the main station where the chef was most likely now standing. Still chewing on her last tapioca pearl, Rumi’s eyes wandered over towards the chef wondering just what caught the interest of the women.
Pink hair.
A harsh, hacking cough rattled Rumi’s chest as she inhaled her half chewed pearl. Just at the front of the class was the same woman that she’d smashed her face against glass to see for just a moment longer. The same smooth skin and button down shirt. The same brown eyes –now looking at Rumi.
She needed to get out of this class before she made a fool of herself even more.

Zoey is struggling. Work sucks, life is a constant drag, and even her hobby as a streamer feels more like work than fun at times. One of her only real comforts is her favourite artist, Rumi, seems to be moving into a new era, one Zoey is excited to follow. So, when a chatter starts to help with her cash flow problems, maybe a little give and take is fair play? When her friend Mira comes back into her life, and with this new bit of fun on the horizon, maybe things are starting to look up?
Rumi is finally free. After years of struggling under the light and airy image the studio had chained her to, her contract is over, and she can make the music she wants, do the things she wants, and she can stop putting on the performance. When one of her only real outlets, a small streamer who seems to be a fan that she has found herself watching time and time again, admits to having money problems, she doesn't think twice about throwing cash at the issue. When it starts to become more than that, she starts to hope that maybe this new chapter in her life will have some new characters too.
