It takes him a second of studying the lovely skirt before it occurs to him the only person in this whole damn camp that even wears outfits like that, and John's already laughing as he skims his gaze up little by little to see one pouting Max Klinger leaning heavy against a wooden beam. There's a sign—Kissing Booth, $1—but as John saunters over, he gazes at Klinger's mouth and notes it's exactly the same shape he's used to studying over poker games when he's pretending he's trying to call the guy's bluff.
"Now, that's not the face of a fella who's been beating people off with a stick," John drawls as he leans into the booth.
Klinger rolls his eyes. "Gee, you don't miss nothing, do you, sir?" he murmurs sarcastically right back.

If there's anything Trapper can't abide by, it's someone this pretty going unappreciated. Everyone else might be ignoring Klinger's kissing booth, but give Trapper two minutes behind Rosie's, and he'll be putting that smile right back on his face.

There's no silence in the tent, not while Trap's tapping his foot in a perfect droning rhythm that feels as though it's knocking rocks around in Hawkeye's skull. Hawk finally thuds his head back. "You're gonna put a hole in the goddamn floor. Will you cut it out?"
"Hey, you find me a better way to spend all this fucking energy and I'll take it," Trap snaps. "I'm about two steps away from just throwing a wig on your head and making do."
The slippery tingle that rushes up Hawkeye's spine morphs into a snort. "You put a wig on Margie every time you take her for a picnic and pickle tasting?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Hawk rolls his eyes. He gets a hand in his own dark locks and gives them a tug. "What, you don't see the resemblance here? Gimme two minutes to shave my face and you won't even need to close your eyes."
When the nurses conduct a second sex strike, the men have to find creative ways to satisfy their desperation. Hawkeye proposes to Trapper a couple of particularly unique options. But it's okay, it's not going to fuck up their friendship, not even a little bit. Right?
