Summary
Killua and Gon find themselves facing down the men they'll be in eight years, and Killua is convinced they're keeping a dark secret-- after all, his future self seems a little shifty, and Gon's older self has a strange, dark look in his eye. The experience leads to a little more self-inventory than either of them had been betting on.
“Neh, Killua? Have I told you the story about The Little Mermaid before?”
“Mmm? The Little Mermaid? Isn’t that a children’s fairytale?”
“You know the story, right?”
“Sure. Some stupid mermaid throws away everything she’s ever known to be with some guy she met once. Then when, surprise surprise, he has a fiance and she realizes that he’ll never love a freak like her, she tries to kill him. She fails, she stabs herself, and returns to the sea as nothing more than cheap moss. It’s a cautionary tale.” Of which he was familiar with a great many more. Caution. Fear. That was how they’d kept him on a leash for so long.
Gon seemed to fall silent at that, probably stewing about his family again. He didn’t blame him, honestly, it was the one cautionary tale he’d seemed to take as a road map.

Summary
Gon... rejects Killua. He doesn't want to, doesn't mean to, but it's the truth. He doesn't feel that way for him. So why then, is everything in him hurting now that Killua has confessed? Why can't he stop staring at him? Why does Killua smiling at anyone else make him want to die?
OR Killua finally confesses, Gon turns him down, and the resulting fallout.

He's sure he's going mental, that is until he gets a message from his ex-boyfriend to meet up and talk things through. And he's not sure why he agrees.

Summary
It’s only been about…9 years since Killua and Gon where last in a room together. Killua wonders if Gon ever forgot. Killua thought that was the last time, and he would be forever cursed to see Gon’s shadow in lonely alleys and crowded streets.
But it happened to be tonight. Killua happened to be standing at the bar, bored, and Gon happened to enter the club.
And just like that
Gon was back in Killua’s life.
Killua could have been anywhere else in the world tonight.
