Kotallo struggles to keep his feelings for his Commander to himself, while Aloy can't help but notice that the way she looks at the Marshal is slowly changing. But Hephaestus is brewing up a world of trouble, machine behavior changing across all the known tribal territories. Can these two figure out just what is brewing between them while keeping their mind on their mission?

Kotallo is hurting, inside and out, when he is sent by his chief to Stone Crest on escort duty for a futile mission. He's heard rumours about the Champion back at the Grove - how she saved the city of Meridian before venturing West and defeating Regalla's champion in single combat, so he expects a larger-than-life brute of a warrior. Instead he finds a woman who is curious, fierce, compassionate, more anvil-headed than any Oseram, and, to his surprise, beautiful.
Just another 'Kotallo and Aloy fall in love within the frame of the game' story, told through the eyes of a man who thinks he has little left to live for, and a woman who faces an impossible task alone. Except that she's not alone at all.
