It would have been Robert’s 24th birthday that day – Aaron had worked that out almost immediately when he found out the date of Robert’s birthday, back when they were still having an affair. It had rattled him more than he had wanted to admit to himself, partly because back then he was still trying very hard to remind himself over and over again that Robert would never choose him, that the two of them could never work properly and that those particular dates coinciding meant nothing.

Summary
Rising rock star, Loki Laufeyson, is having difficulty keeping his reputation in check. His manager hires him one of the industry's most wanted agents, Mobius. M. Mobius. Loki is displeased by this arrangement and does everything he can to change this nonchalant man's mind about being his agent. However, Loki is struck with a growing attraction to the agent in this process. To his secret enjoyment, Mobius seems to be experiencing the same feelings.
As this relationship grows, Loki and Mobius must conquer the world of fame by dodging reporters, dealing with toxic past lovers, and paving the way to the life they truly desire.

“They are hiding something from us specifically, and you aren’t, at the least, interested in knowing what?”
“I can’t say I am,” Mobius admits, and to Loki’s befuddled expression, he shrugs. “What’s the fuss? I’m sure it’s not anything dangerous, if that’s what you’re worried about. As long as the world’s not ending, that ain’t my business.” Mobius recites this as if it’s some sort of prophecy to go by. As if letting things go right under your nose is a good thing.
“It might,” Loki points out, brows raising. “We don’t know. It could be life-threatening. Universe-ending. A case of the multiverse splitting apart, perhaps.”
“We’re the TVA. Not you in 2012.” Mobius wears an expression that is most comparable to a very tired babysitter. He grabs his mug the moment the coffee machine stops dispensing, and, sipping it, goes to exit the room. He jerks his head to indicate for Loki to follow. Loki does. “They’re not planning to conquer New York.”
Or, the TVA starts a betting pool, Loki has FOMO, and Mobius, really, could not care less.

Sylvie’s words echo in Loki’s head. Loki knows he should go back to the OB variant’s timeline. He knows that was the next chapter in his story. And yet, well, Loki has always been selfish to his very core. One more footnote to his story couldn’t hurt. Could it?
With all the time in the world and with time running short, Loki seeks comfort in a dive bar in Cleveland. After all, he lies to everyone else. Loki can lie to himself too, just for one night.
