    Wei Wuxian froze like he’d been thrown into the cold pond. He’d forgotten. One of the reasons Lan food was so incredibly bland was to know if something had been added.

    Lan Zhan just drank the tea. “Wei Wuxian. Did you drink this?”

    Wei Wuxian kept his smile on. He could feel the drug creeping into him. It wouldn’t be long before he was knocked out cold. How long did he have to try and convince Lan Zhan to go? “It’s only tea, Lan Zhan.”

    “Did you drink this?”

    “Yes.”

    Lan Zhan sprung forward. Before he knew it, Lan Zhan pulled him to the porch, pressing weight on the back of his shoulders to hunch him forward. Long, strong fingers pushed into his mouth, poking to the back of his throat. Wei Wuxian was gagging, and Lan Zhan said. “Throw it up. Throw it up now.”

    In which Jiang Cheng had been drugging Wei Wuxian’s tea for years, secretly having his way with him at night, but not every night the tea works. Wei Wuxian’s been desperate not to get his brother in trouble, sure it’s what he owes the Jiang, sure it’s half his fault anyway, and tells no one. But Lan Zhan has started to put the pieces together during classes.
