Summary
In the story you knew, the princess dies. The villains give up their cause for the Light. The witch is kept offstage. The friends never resolve their differences. Lessons go un-learned. Three of the chosen Seven go unnamed. And the hero throws his life away to trade for something that should never have taken place, based on harbingers of death disguised as the trappings of love.
In this story, the princess lives. The Darkness deepens. The witch makes her power play. Old grudges are recalled and dealt with. Everyone learns something. The New Seven Hearts stand together. And the hero...well, he may or may not be better off in the end, but at least his heart was true, and all of his friends truly his power.

Mostly because I know the truth about Disney World's dark secret. And it shook my world more than any of those stories ever could.

I do enjoy a spot of horror, and I wrote this a while ago for fun because I thought of a new take on the "Disney World CreepyPasta" idea. After realizing I don't find much horror on AO3, I realized that due to the nature of the twist (which you can probably guess), this story was actually enough of a fanfic that I could put it here on AO3 instead of making a whole new account on some CreepyPasta site to host it. Besides, it adds to the Mozenrath tag, and I'm always glad to do that!

All the while Count Olaf was putting his nefarious plan into motion to acquire the fortune of the Baudelaires, he didn't notice the romance blossoming among his minions. As Fernald and Ainsley keep their relationship covert, they find it challenged by the problems that arise among villains.
As of chapter 1, the Hook-Handed Man will be referred to by his bookverse canon name. All the rest of Count Olaf’s associates will be referred to by names I came up with and assigned to them and should not be taken as canon or even popular fanon (though believe me, I’d be flattered if they were referred to by these names elsewhere). Fic assumes Grim Grotto and the revelations within will be played close to the books; beware of spoilers. This story is meant to run alongside ASOUE without disturbing canon (too badly, anyway). Chapter 3 will be written after that season airs.
