Summary
Harry Potter finds out about Draco's Dark Mark. There's a decent bit of plot which I do hope makes up for the fact that this is in no way a slow burn...
Side Note: the archive warning "Rape/Non-Con" as well as the additional tag of "Implied/Referenced Rape/Non-Con" does not actually refer to that. It refers to grooming, but I felt I should give the archive warning to this story as grooming, in my opinion, falls into the same vein.

“The more you leave him alone and watch Sev be Sev, the more you’ll like him.” Lily promises. “I’m sure you’ll all kick yourself the moment you realise who you’ve been tormenting like dodgy cads for so many years.”
“Dodgey.” James echoes.
“Cad?” Sirius repeats.
Remus leans back as he says, “I think I might like him already. He was cursing like a Victorian ghost the entire time he cleaned out that squirrel nest. He said whatever rat built the damned thing was a ‘catwampous’. What even is a ‘mumbling cove’? And how would one eat vinegar with a fork?”
“Oh my god, Rem,” Lily gasps. “Stop.”
“It’s not me!” The ‘wolf defends. “All of that is Snape!”
Maybe they will be friends, afterall.

James swears it’s an accident! He knows the second after the quaffle makes contact that nobody is going to believe him because it’s Snape who it hits. He says as much when Professor McGonagall comes in shouting, "A quaffle to the head, Potter!"
"Shoulder." Snape corrects.
“Where does not matter to me. Not when it comes to you, Mister Potter. You need to get along with Mister Snape, there is too much hate between you. If I am to take your word and this is an accident, it will not go on your record only if you meet my terms.”
James gulps. “What’s your terms?”
“I am including Mister Black and Mister Lupin in this as their behaviour influences yours, often for the worst. I'm unwilling to take chances. We will discuss this once your parents arrive.” She announces. “Pomfrey, is Mister Snape in good condition?”
“Anemic but functioning!” The healer chirps.
Snape grumbles something under his breath.

And that is how Severus Snape, James Potter, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin end up 'enjoying' their summer holdiays together at the Potter Manor.

Sexual assault. He rolls it around in his head. It’s ridiculous.
It’s a messed up, life ruining accusation; he’d never do something like that to any girl. The idea is positively mental, makes him ill. His parents raised him well, taught him the importance of consent- No means no, respect her boundaries, ask first, all of it. James Potter would never take advantage of someone sexually. But that’s not what he’s been charged with, not exactly.
The lake… it doesn’t count. It was a stupid prank, it’s what the Marauders are known for, their source of infamy, it didn’t mean anything beyond that. It’s not like he’d known Snivellus hadn’t been wearing any trousers when he cast Levicorpus, it just happened that way, and he’d only gone further because he’d called Evans that awful word.
OR
James Potter overhears a conversation that prompts him to consider his actions and issue an apology to one Severus Snape or risk being taken to court.
