    Summary

Similar to Built to Break-Alternate ending, this story will be the same up to a certain point, and then switch into an alternate version. Chapter 25 is where things will begin to shift from the original.

If you have read the original, I have gone back and added some author's notes at the end of the chapters with some thoughts and insights you might enjoy, instead of rereading the whole thing... though I find that rereading it sometimes hits different when you know the ending will change.

    Spoiler alert: Ilya will die.
Double spoiler alert: There will be a happy ending and a reunion, because I am not a psychopath.

    Summary

When allegations against a youth coach begin circulating online, most of the league treats it like a joke.

Ilya Rozanov laughs along with everyone else. Nothing bad happened to him, at least that’s what he's always believed.

Or, a look into Ilya Rozanov’s childhood and how it shaped him.

    Summary

In late October, Ilya picks up some kind of freakish Canadian flu that dogs him into November.

It is the weirdest shit. He has to duck out of practice because his nose starts bleeding twice in one week and he wakes up in a hotel in Columbus with another one that leaves stains on the pillow. On the flight back to Ottawa, Hazy drops into the seat next to Ilya midflight and asks, "This isn't, like, a cocaine thing, right?"

Ilya laughs so hard it's probably a little rude.

They have a plan. Ilya's body has a different plan.

    Summary

“It’s alright. I’m Shane.” He reached out his hand
The man looked at it, then at him, and finally shook it. “Ilya,” he said.
“Ilya,” Shane echoed. “That’s a good name. Russian?”
“Yes.” he confirmed “You don’t know me?”
Shane tilted his head. “No. Should I?”

Shane Hollander usually walks with his gaze down, but one evening, as he crosses the bridge on his way home from work, he notices a man with piercing blue eyes and, for reasons he can’t quite explain, finds himself unable to look away.

Ilya Rozanov has just been traded to the Ottawa Centaurs. One evening, on a bridge overlooking the Ottawa River, he just want to disappear, until a young man with freckles reaches out a hand to him.

    Summary

I was not happy with Shane & Ilya's wedding in The Long Game - so I changed it.
Neither Shane or Yuna would allow a garden wedding. (And neither would I!)
So here is how I planned their VERY big day.

Shane’s 30th birthday is fast approaching, and is the perfect cover for the announcement of their relationship in the most romantic way, but saying I DO.

    - Disclaimer -
    1) I'm from the UK, and I have no understanding of Canadian law.
    2) I'm not a wedding planner. I've been to 3 weddings and nearly fell asleep at all 3.
    3) I know nothing about US/Canadian immigration law.
So this is just my imagination at play.
