Summary
At Cackle’s Academy, a simple potion assignment forces Mildred Hubble and Ethel Hallow to work together, even though neither of them is ready to face the feelings they have been avoiding for years.
What should have been harmless becomes intimate when their potion begins reacting to emotion instead of ingredients. Soft light rises whenever their hands brush. Sparks flare when they try to deny the pull between them. And the magic keeps revealing the truth they are too afraid to say out loud.

When the Mist of Time crosses over Cackle’s Academy, Mildred Hubble and Ethel Hallow are pulled deeper than anyone expected, trapped far in the past with no rescue in sight. Forced to blend in among the students of an older, stricter academy, the rivals must work together to survive and hide their identities.
As they explore the unfamiliar school, they uncover hidden truths about the academy’s history and befriend the young Ada and Agatha Cackle. The longer they remain trapped, the more they learn about the sisters, the school, and each other. What begins as unwilling teamwork slowly shifts into trust and feelings neither girl is prepared to face.
Meanwhile, in the present, Maud, Enid and the teachers fight desperately against the spreading mist, terrified that Mildred and Ethel may already be lost to time.
If the girls cannot find a way home soon, they may be stuck forever.
