“You’ve heard right, but this is an exception. I won’t go into much details, but he refused to have a member of the Jedi Order assigned to him for... various reasons.” Amidala offered forth an explanation. “His homeworld fairly recently joined the Galactic Republic as one of the affiliated planets. It is still in its infant stages when it comes to development, it has no standing army nor enough resources to support one. On top of that, he didn’t want to ‘waste public funds’ on a private security detail. That’s why this arrangement was put into place. And to answer your question, we’re on our way to see him.”
The clone nodded. That cleared a few things up, but only a few.-----

He gritted his teeth and looked for his sword, which lay discarded next to the wooden cot. He reached out to grab it when he saw his reflection in the steel and froze.
Staring back at him was a monster.
The right side of his face looked more like embers rather than skin. The black and white undershirt he sported was smoldered and burnt through by the heat coming off of his skin, especially on his arm and chest. The Crownguard crest he kept on him at all times, proudly exhibited on his chest, was now warped, the metal cracked and melted. His dirty blond hair was streaked with dark grey strands, similar to those Claudia had in her bangs from performing the dark spell that mended his broken spine, and his eye...
Gods, his eye.
His eye, once sporting a deep blue iris, was now red, its sclera the color of the darkest of coals.-----
After being transformed into a fire-monster by his father, Soren slinks away into the shadows in order to protect the people he loves. Unable to touch anyone or anything thanks to his burning touch, he is forced into a lonely, solitary existence, feeling his humanity slipping away bit by bit.
