It’s you and your best friend against the world. You have each other and your cats living together in a small condo. The only downfall is that you like to explore abandoned places and take home things that have long been forgotten. Your roommate and best friend hates this quality in you, but she will always bend her rules if it means it can bring you some brief happiness to fix something broken.
Unfortunately what you bring home this time…is a little more than just a small trinket. If the robot in your home doesn’t kill you, your friend is definitely going to.
(This is deadass a comfort fic I made while really going through it with my best friend. It was meant to just be a silly self insert, but I wanted to make it so others could enjoy it too if they wanted. It’s my first time writing a fic instead of reading ‘em. Hope you like it.)

Summary
Humans, at one point, reigned above all other forms of life. They were at the top of the food chain, at the height of discovery and of intelligence. For thousands of years, that was the known truth.
Nothing could challenge them, nothing could destroy them, nothing could take a place above them and rule over them.
But yet, the world has been taken over.
Now, many would hear that and assume one of two things - aliens invaded and took over, or the human-made creation of artificial intelligence has rebelled and taken charge.
The year of 2087 was the Year of the Fae.
Fairies.
Fucking. Fairies.
Now, the fae are amused by humans. Amused to the point where they take them in as pets. There are shelters dedicated to capturing humans so that the fae folk can adopt them like dogs.
You were a stray.
But now, here you are, with two prissy fae fawning over you after they picked you out from the shelter that you ended up in, and by everything holy, you are Not Having It.
