“Constantly having your opinion challenged, fighting to be the most influential again and again.. Makes me crave dominance over a being with the opposite conviction. One willing to give it,” his whisper was an implication Mingi refused to hear. Yunho shrugged.
“Not all of us are like me, some tend to struggle. It can be taxing to always be alert, no? Eternally providing direction, many don’t know how to shut it off once the day ends," he tutted. "Those are my favorites, the ones looking to let go and listen," shockingly, his typical condescension was missing, a notch of something playful filled its spot instead. The effect was easy to crave, that Yunho deemed him worthy enough to share a secret. That type of favoritism was still disarming to his inexperience. Exhilarating to say the least when it was already a regular challenge not to crave the sin of being considered special in Yunho’s eyes.
“Do you like to listen, Mingi?”
The Angel nodded without a single hesitation.
(Mingi and Yunho’s paths crossed in the most expected way any Angel and Devil could meet, taking their assigned spot on opposite shoulders of a Mortal. Everything else however… none of that could have been anticipated.)

“Not every girl can be the perfect one Hwa, we only saw each other for like give or take two months? Wasn't like we were getting married.”
Dropping the act, Seonghwa barely let him finish before asking a question Yunho never could have been prepared to answer. “Then how long have you been in love?” Pursing his lips, the older’s eerie glare only continued to build as Yunho spluttered, neck pushing back as a tangled astonishment crashed over his shoulders.
“What? I was never in love with her… Why the hell would I break up with her if I was in love?” He scoffed, hands trying and failing to rub some of the growing irritation away from his eyes. “Common Seonghwa, just say what you’re trying to get at. It's too early for the go around.”
“Fine,” he shrugged, taking a long righteous sip of coffee as Yunho groaned impatiently. No doubt in hell the bastard was enjoying himself.
“How long have you been in love with Mingi?”
(ie. where will life go when two childhood pen pals are destined to meet)
