“What are you doing here,” is all he can think to say. He whirls around, and there he is. On Crowley’s right, standing there like he’d never left. Where he belongs, Crowley’s mind helpfully supplies. He wishes he could punch himself in the brain, knock the thoughts right on out of there.

Summary
In September of 1971, Severus Snape finds a forgotten portrait of the Slytherin family in a dark corner of the Slytherin Common Room. At the time, he has no idea that talking portrait will affect the rest of his life.
On 31st July 1995, Harry Potter disappears from Little Whinging a few minutes after midnight. The means of his departure are unfathomable, and the Order's only relief in their concern is the fact that Voldemort was not responsible.
The rest of Wizarding Britain is too busy tearing down their Wizarding Savior via the press to be much concerned, at least until certain Slytherin allies decide that enough is fucking well enough.

A fun series that that lends itself to rereads. I wasn’t sure at first if I would like it do to one of the pairings, but so far some of my most beloved stories to circle back to feature parings that I would search for. The story is wonderful. Surpassed ever so slightly by the rework of lore that sends my fantasy loving heart soaring. Like I’m not kidding the lore in this story is wonderful. I would love to just hear how the author figured it out some day. It’s marvelous. And just….jsvckdbdusvdksbxhskdbsgdkchsvzi. I love it so much. I also love the Podfic version that is being recorded. (It’s actually how I found this story to begin with and I couldn’t put it down)
