Summary
“Buck,” Eddie repeats, like the word sounds foreign to him.
“What’s your full name?”
He squints. “Eddie…Diaz.”
“No, your full name. Your legal name. Do you know it?” He’s starting to panic. The dispatcher’s voice speaks in the background, but Buck can’t focus on what she’s saying.
“Eddie?” he repeats. “Diaz,” he adds.
“Edmundo,” Buck whispers. His steady demeanor cracks. He closes his eyes, tears streaming down his face. “Edmundo Ramón Diaz,” he says, voice trembling.
In the middle of the Arizona desert, Eddie gets sick.

Summary
In Eddie’s defence, he’d never seen it coming.
Maybe it was just that he’d been lulled into a false sense of security since he’d been bonded.
But honestly, it was a maybe little unfair to expect him to see the signs when the helicopter he was in was dropping out of the sky, the alarms screaming as Tommy tried desperately to land it.
Eddie makes a new friend and Buck stages a daring rescue to stop Tommy Kinard stealing his omega.

Summary
The hottest man Eddie has ever seen has just entered the backyard. He’s a couple of inches taller than Eddie, probably around 6 foot 2. He’s got arms that could crush a watermelon without even trying. Long legs that stretch for miles. A mop of curls sits on the top of his head. The bluest of eyes accentuated by a pink birthmark above his eyebrow and the brightest of smiles, dimples peeking through.
Eddie has seen attractive men before. He has lusted after men before. Eddie has never wanted to jump someone’s bones as quickly as this guy.

Summary
A year ago at that bachelor party, so drunk he was draped across Buck’s lap with his nose buried in all the intoxicating silky heat beneath the notch of Buck’s jaw, Eddie asked Buck what he smelled like to him.
It’s not a question you’re supposed to ask, but Eddie forgets the rules sometimes. Ignores them. Things like that don’t matter between him and Buck, they never have.
He’s still not sure what he expected Buck to say. Nothing, maybe, which he assumed was the truth, Eddie’s scent faded to barely echo of what it should be. But Buck had taken Eddie’s jaw in one hand, had tipped his head back so the line of his neck was bared to Buck like an offering, had stopped to scent him with his mouth still open, had said against Eddie’s sweat-tacky skin, so low his voice thrummed in his chest, You’re the sweetest thing I’ve ever met.

Eddie hasn’t gone into heat since he presented at seventeen. But living with an alpha who takes care of him for the first time in his life is about to change that.
