Sophie stiffened, her back straightening, a stormy emotion flashing through her deep brown eyes and into the crease of her mouth. She stood in a graceful motion and shook her hair out before she spoke, airy tone not quite covering the bitterness in her voice. “You're right, Nate. Powerglide could never treat me like this. Because he's a gentleman.”
Nate goggled at her as she turned on one heel and stalked away out of the room. It took him several moments to find his voice again, and when he did, it was in a shout. “He's a PLANE.”
She ignored him, rounding the corner and leaving him sitting there, fuming.

In which Nate isn't entirely sure when he lost control of the con, but it was probably about five minutes after Sophie decided she wanted to play heiress.
