Eddie says it casually, without thinking. Without meaning anything by it. Just as a way of settling their plans.
“A- a date?” Buck says lifting his eyes again and looking at Eddie with what might be the brightest smile Eddie has ever seen on his face. “I- I’d like that, Eddie. I’d like that very much.”
Eddie feels his eyes go a little wide, and then his stomach drops because it sounds like Buck misunderstood him. It looks like Buck thinks Eddie just asked him out on a date date. On a real romantic date and not just a normal hang-out, which is what Eddie meant. And he looks excited about it.
______________________________________________________What do you do when you accidentally ask your best friend out on a date? Do you clarify the situation as soon as possible and hope that the both of you can just laugh it off? or do you fumble your way through a first date and maybe discover that the notion of dating your best friend might not be so crazy after all...
