Andy and Emily fell out of touch within 2 years of Andy and Ava moving to Chicago. It hurt too much for them. When Ava was finally allowed her own laptop, she found Emily, reaching out and establishing a quiet maternal relationship that Andy didn’t know about. Andy moved back to NY when Ava went to college, but never reached back out to Emily, and then they ran into each other when Andy started back at Runway.
