    No one really cares when Cartman shows up to class with a bruise around his eye.
    It's not that they aren’t curious— there’s plenty of speculation and gossip, it's just that whoever punched him had most likely gained the rights for it. Hell, Kenny himself has plenty of good reasons to beat the shit out of him, then some.
    But instead of whining about it like a baby, or venting angrily to the entire table at lunch, Cartman doesn’t say a single word on the topic of the swollen ring of purple, garish in the dull fluorescents like bad makeup. Kenny can’t stop gaping at it, the way it clashes so horribly on his pale skin and with his brown hair and iris, like something infected, something darker.
