Summary
Stan Marsh has been in the foster care system for years. He's been moved around to so many different homes and families that he's almost completely run out of options. Now, at the age of 17, the only place he has left before he's put into juvenile detention is a group home in a small mountain town called South Park. While there, he and a few of the other kids in his home, Kenny and Tweek, are made to attend an extremely notable, non-religious, all-boys private school. He expected this experience to be torture. He envisioned that everyone would harbor judgement of him given his background, but this isn't entirely the case. In fact, he may have a stronger connection to some of the students than he could've ever expected. One boy, a young man named Kyle Broflovski, may even make him feel grateful to have ended up at this institution.

Summer break is coming to an end in Wyoming and the new school year is approaching fast and as much as he enjoyed it Stanley Marsh is glad it's coming to an end. He's excited to finally move up to middle school with his SBF (Super Best Friend) Kyle Broflovski.
That and he won't have to deal with his annoying sister beating him up anymore because she'll be all the way out north in Massachusetts at her 'special' boarding school. That according to her Stan is to stupid to get into but he doesn't care everything is perfect exactly how it is and he doesn't want anything to change.
Who would want to go to some cruddy boarding school anyway? Not Stan.
Especially if meant he couldn't be with Kyle.

From being prescribed many new medications and having constant doctor visits, to experiencing severe depression episodes and other mental and psychological issues. All the while Randy would much rather move on and forget all that has happened then confront his own grief and pain the comes along with the death of a family member.

At this point, Kyle had gone too rigid to answer.

Too late.Held by Stan was no longer Kyle, but the baggie. Well, barely. Stan was shaking violently as he peered at it. Tried to gauge it. Now, he held it even closer to his face, trying to ease the fuzziness the world had dissipated to so starkly. “...Weed?”
Honestly, Stan was surprised the word was audible, despite how bitter a taste it left on his tongue. Metallic, like it attacked his mouth in a bloody battle.
“Okay, Stan, it's not-...” Kyle began pathetically. “It's not how it looks, okay?”

After being diagnosed with a relatively aggressive form of cancer at age twelve, Kyle Broflovski has been hospitalized for most of his middle and high school experience thus far. While having been -mostly- okay with missing out on vital events his friends often talk about when visiting him, he honestly just wants to get the hell out of this bed and live a little! After all, it's not his fault he drew the short end of the stick when it comes to the gene pool.
When the opportunity finally arrives for him to escape the confines of Hells Pass Hospital and go home, he's determined to live the rest of his teenage years as "normally" as possible (to South Park standards, at least) and enjoys what time he has left with his friends- whether it be six months or five years.
