Summary
In which Darth Maul catches up to Qui Gon just a little bit earlier…
“It is only lucky that we had the hyperdrive installed by the time that thing showed up,” Obi-Wan remarked.
“And here I thought you didn’t believe in luck, Obi-Wan,” Qui-Gon said, an amused twinkle in his eyes. “But yes, quite fortunate indeed. We shall escort the queen to Coruscant, and then we shall return here.”
Obi-Wan gaped at his master for a moment, then quickly tried to hide it. Apparently, he could still be surprised by Qui-Gon’s antics after all. “Master, with all due respect… we barely escaped that thing once. I am sure whatever unfinished business you have with that boy is hardly important enough to risk coming back.”
Qui-Gon chuckled lightly. “You still have much to learn, padawan. I, on the other hand, am quite certain that it is of vital importance to the future of the galaxy that I return here and conclude my business with Anakin.”
“A touch dramatic, don’t you think, master?” Obi-Wan asked, smirking slightly.
Qui-Gon only smiled mischievously.

Summary
She’d seen these patterns before. They weren’t just any old lines on his back. They looked like—
“Feathers,” Vokara murmured, noticing the boy watching her warily out of the corner of his eye. The second she said the word, it was like she’d triggered something in the boy, who just barely choked down a terrified yelp and jerked away from her fingers.
Once, only once had she ever seen this intricate design on another humanoid species’ skin. This boy was wary of everyone and everything it seemed, but Vokara needed to clean and patch that wound or he’d get a serious infection. But perhaps there was someone who could help her.
“Master Ti,” she spoke up calmly, turning her gaze back to Shaak. “Would you fetch Knight Kenobi for me please?”

Years later, a young boy is found during an explosion in the Galactic Senate with unusual markings on his back, of which the Jedi only know one other person with the same markings.

Summary
For fourteen years, the wizarding world believed that Neville Longbottom was the Boy-Who-Lived. After all, Voldemort vanished after attacking two families on the same night, everyone assumed he had chosen the pureblood Longbottoms as his target. Neville grew up carrying the weight of a legend he could never quite live up to.
Then, in the Little Hangleton graveyard, Voldemort takes one look at Neville and laughs.
"You are not Harry Potter."
The wizarding world reels from Voldemort's return, and both the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters begin searching for the real Boy-Who-Lived.
The problem is that nobody has seen Harry Potter in years.
Sent away by the Dursleys at nine years old to St. Brutus' School for the Criminally Insane, Harry grew up believing he was a dangerous delinquent and a freak. He knows nothing about magic, nothing about prophecies, and nothing about the war fought in his name.Bookmarked by Jujuland

Summary
“Remus, he needs someone who can connect with him…” Minerva’s voice had a desperate edge to it, “He doesn’t trust us.”
“And you think he’ll trust me? I’m as much a stranger to him as you.” He turned his eyes to Dumbledore, pushing past the discomfort as they made eye contact and his soul was pierced by the shrewd gaze.
“We think he may trust you because you and he have similar… backgrounds.”
He frowns at her, trying to put the pieces of what she’s saying together. Similar backgrounds? Shitty childhoods, maybe?
“Harry was not attacked.” Dumbledore says, breaking the silence, “He perpetrated it.”
A cold chill runs through Remus’ body. His mouth is suddenly far too dry and he feels as if bands wrap around his chest. He shakes his head.
“What?” He wheezes out, feeling all at once that his chest will cave in when he hears what Dumbledore has to say.
“I’m sorry to have to tell you this.” Dumbledore sounds truly grieved, and Remus feels bile rise in his throat. He’d used that same tone of voice when he’d found him after news about James and Lily, Peter and Sirius had broken. Had it really already been four years since he’d lost them?
“Harry is an Obscurial.”
