    Louis tilted his head as he gazed at Niall. “You want to pretend we’re dating?”
    Niall shrugged. “Won’t hurt anyone. You get to one-up him and we get a free party out of it too.”
    Louis snorted. “You know, in all of those love stories, fake dating always ends with someone getting hurt or the main characters suddenly realising they’ve always been madly in love anyway.”
    For a second, Louis thought he spotted a blush rising from Niall’s chest, but it must’ve been his imagination because the next moment, it was gone.
    “We’re not in some cheesy Hallmark movie, Lou. It’ll be fine.”

     

    When Louis ends up with Niall as a roommate after a messy break up with Harry, he considers it truly life saving. They become fast friends and while Louis is sceptical about Niall's idea to start fake dating to take revenge on Harry, it can't be that bad, can it?
