After Crystalized, Harumi is given one chance to prove she’s changed—help the Ninja investigate a series of attacks targeting the remaining Sons of Garmadon.
The Ninja don’t trust her.
Harumi doesn’t blame them.
Lloyd, however, is willing to try. Even if his own trust issues make it difficult to believe that people can stay.

“Maybe.”
“You keep saying that.”
“Because you keep warning me.”
As old wounds reopen and dangerous secrets surface, Harumi searches for a place to belong while Lloyd struggles to let someone close.

Summary
After joining the Hashimoto, Mizuki is introduced to Toshiro and his daughter. Toshiro was forced to join early after they took his daughter hostage. While he did his best to teach her well, their limited time together created little influence. And as she grew amongst the Hashimoto’s rough forces, she became as hurtful and brutish as the rest of them. She ranked up quickly, and soon slid into a leading position
When her father became preoccupied with Mizuki, a boy of similar age to her, she got jealous and started to push him around. Not realizing she was slowly growing fond of him. He was a good person deep down, forced to join due to his bad luck. But that good heart made her insecure.

Summary
I always felt the ending of Crystalized was a bit too rushed and abrupt, especially when it came to solving the complex tension between Lloyd and Harumi. While I’m glad she returned, the season definitely needed more time to let their relationship breathe. This fanfic is my take on how things should have unfolded. Expect a slightly darker atmosphere. I tried to depict the ''dark'' energy of the Oni Trilogy. Note also that I just wrote this for fun, so don't have any high expectations regarding the plot, it is just how I felt it should be.
Author’s Note: This story is highly inspired by elcall and his/her amazing fanfictions, Fresh Start and Fresh Start - The Rewrite. I absolutely loved reading them. They portray the Ninjago characters in such a profoundly human way, while not forgeting their past. Huge thanks to elcall for pushing me to create something of my own!
