Summary
Centuries ago, dragons and humans shared the earth. Then came the war, the betrayal, and the fire.
Seonghwa has nothing left. Scarred and cast out, he survives only by the will of the forest and the bitterness in his bones. He doesn't expect kindness. He certainly doesn't expect salvation to come on wings.
But the Thunder that finds him, has no love for humans. Only old wounds, and older grudges.
And Seonghwa? He is just one more broken thing they never meant to keep.

Summary
The sea is cruel, but it is not heartless.
Hongjoong has spent months under the flag of the Red Widow, a notorious pirate captain whose name alone can silence taverns. With six brothers-at-arms beside him, Hongjoong endures raids, lashes, and long nights on salt-stained decks, all the while hungering for more than a crewmate’s life. Ambition gnaws at him like the tide against stone.
But the night the captain calls him below deck, everything changes.
Behind iron and glass, chained in water and mutilated into silence, lies a creature Hongjoong had never truly believed in: a siren. Pale, powerful, otherworldly and ruined, stitched mouth closed with black thread. Seonghwa.
The sight unsettles Hongjoong more than blood or cannonfire ever has. He should fear the monster the captain boasts of taming. Instead, he cannot forget the dark weight of his gaze, the sorrow pressed into him without a single word.
As the Red Widow’s cruelty grows, Hongjoong and his brothers will be forced to choose their own paths.
And through it all, Hongjoong cannot escape the memory of the siren chained below deck, nor the terrible pull of what Seonghwa might become if ever freed.

Summary
The wine pours slowly. Dark like the blood he swore he'd never spill again. Seonghwa watches it fill the glass up to the rim, but doesn’t stop. Doesn’t even blink. The red stains his fingers. Good. Maybe he’ll remember what it feels like to make things bleed.
He lifts the glass. He doesn't drink from it. He sighs, throwing the glass to the wall.
“Well fuck.”

Summary
Growing up, Hongjoong had heard whispered tales about the Manyeo, a cult of dark magic users that were stolen as children and moulded to become monsters. Some say that they trade their souls for power, some say that they kill anyone who sees them, some say that they're just a myth to make children behave. Once he became an adult, a pirate captain, Hongjoong had passed the Manyeo off as being figures of fiction.
But the man locked in an enemy ship's brig had all the signs: the tattoos down his back, the dye that stained his fingertips, the clothes and weapons and jewellery. Maybe he really was a Manyeo, and maybe that was why his lips had been sewn shut. You can't cast spells if you can't speak.
If he had been a wise man, Hongjoong would have killed the stranger while he was weak. If he had been a wise man, he wouldn't have looked into the other's eyes and noticed how they seemed to hold all the stars from the night sky. But Hongjoong had never claimed to be a wise man, and he wasn't about to start now.

Summary
Seonghwa opened his eyes, he hadn’t even realized he had closed them. The first thing he noticed was the thick leather boots in front of him. The next thing he realized was that the owner of these boots was talking quietly. Not to him but to the pirate beside him.
“He’s alive, right?”
“Yeah… But he looks like shit compared to before. His leg is definitely worse for wear. I thought you said it was just a scrape?”
“That's what he told me, I didn’t exactly hold him down and strip him to find out, Yunho”
Yunho sighed, and lightly Seonghwa felt the pirate's hand tap his shoulder. “Really?” The Captain questioned with an annoyed tone. “I don’t want to get stabbed Hongjoong…” Yunho mumbled.
;; Seonghwa is a merchant navigator aboard a ship that has been decimated by a notorious Captain and his feared crew, left alive and taken aboard by Hongjoong for reasons he doesn't quite understand.
Hongjoong is the new Captain of the Halazia, and searching for a navigator who can lead him and his crew to a legendary place regarded once as a sailors tale until he finds a piece of a map.
They need each other, whether they want to or not.
