There’s more to peace than the absence of war. The work is as hard and uncertain as any Shinobi mission.
AKA: A highly self-indulgent fic in which a civilian woman helps an orphaned Sasuke and winds up saving the world.

This is the best Female OC fic I have ever read. There are so many politics, so many nuances of this world building that are as fascinating as they are wonderful. Definitely worth a re-read or six.

If you've ever wondered what Team 7 would look like if Obito helped Kakashi teach them without the pressure of the village, and more importantly, helped them sort out their insecurities, look no further. Excellent characterization.

If you're looking for a great time-travel set, these ficlets are simply wonderful. Naruto, Killer B, and Gaara go back in time to fix things long before anyone even knows they're broken. (Naruto is 3 when he breaks down and get's Kakashi to adopt him, once he's already fixed everything.) Most of the action happens off screen, but the political ramifications of those actions, and the happy ending is well supplied. Something to come back to on gloomy days. A sweet taste of what might have been.

    Summary

Peter's trapped beneath a collapsed building during a mission, hurt and unable to move. Luckily, his comm still works. Unluckily, the Avengers don’t realise how bad of a state Peter is in, and Peter isn’t inclined to tell them.

“Spidey, they’ve got reinforcements. We’ve hit a bit of a snag here, and I don’t think anyone will be able to help you for a while. Think you can sit tight while we deal with this?”

The pressure on his lower back and legs was becoming too much. Peter swallowed thickly, fighting down panic. He could handle this.

“Yeah,” Peter said. “I can do that.”

This is one of those stories that I come back to time and again, especially when I'm in the mood for solid team-building and hurt/comfort. There's something really wonderful about the relationship that's implied in this. It's not spelled out, but then, it doesn't have to be. Peter is new to the team and get's in a tight spot.

One of my favorite tropes is the citizens of New York looking after Spiderman. Here, Peter has a panic attack when he realizes he's just outted his identity to the group of civilians he's saved while unmasked. Worse, they've followed him home. And then those two, rational adults take stock of the situation (a young man too busy saving the city to make much rent, let alone rent enough for NYC) and take steps to help. Beautifully done. Well worth coming back to.
