Kiara let out a full laugh, throwing her head back. Rafe smiled listening to her giggle. His head was still a little fuzzy, but he was sobering up for the most part now that the one person that meant the most to him was here. All thoughts of the altercation earlier with his dad were forgotten.
Kiara brought her head back up as her laughter subsided. Rafe placed his baseball cap atop her messy curls.
“I definitely like the second tattoo idea. Those bitches better stand back. You’re mine Cameron.” Kiara pulled him in for another kiss, mindful of his bruises.
Rafe returned the kiss with fervor. Hers was all he ever wanted to be.

Summary

Now 34 years old and a seasoned politician, Snow is ready to host the 26th annual Hunger Games. After last year's first ever Quarter Quell, he's determined to make these games even more memorable and bloodthirsty than the last. His plans change however when a familiar looking boy from District 12 is chosen as a tribute, leaving the heartless president to find himself doing whatever he can to ensure the boy's survival and safe return back home (wherever the boy's home now may be, given some of Snow’s most recent revelations).
If only Martius Baird wasn’t so caught up on his district partner; a gentle former Covey girl who he’s volunteered to die for.
