Summary
I firmly believe that the Kindly Emperor knows nothing of that undiscovered country. He never claimed omnipotence. I longed my whole life to give him my findings... Oh, I hope so desperately that my brother found my notes! Something has gone terribly wrong in the River (Harrow the Ninth, chapter 45)
when I come into my homeland, my family will sacrifice in their halls for you (Harrow the Ninth, chapter 49)
In which a promise is kept, notes are found, and Alecto contemplates how rivers work and the lengths to which a sibling will go in their grief.

Summary
The following are a selection of 20 painstakingly restored digital artifacts from a database labeled “NSA54GAIA”, one of the last items to be uploaded to the archival repository on board the Eden Arc ship Deucalion. For centuries, the files were considered too corrupted to be read, but recent developments have allowed us to decipher a number of text files and associated image descriptions. While lacking context, all appear to relate the woman who would go on to bring an end to Eden and falsely style herself as the deity and empress of the Sol system, comprising a variety of electronic communications between the then “Dr Ianthe Tridentarius” and her inner circle.

Summary
To this end we beg the first of your House and their cavalier to kneel in glory and attend the finest study, that of being the Emperor’s bones and joints, his fists and gestures…(GTN ch 3)
Your Masters won’t even let me look at them through the glass… They’re good copies, at least—and I spend my time studying those. Writing commentary, naturally. But being here meant almost more to me than the idea of serving the Emperor. (GTN ch 15)
Shortly after the scions are summoned to Canaan House, Master Archivist Juno Zeta refuses one last request to study Lyctoral materials.

Summary
Kiriona slumped onto her palm, propped up by her elbow on the desk’s hard, polished surface. Behind all of the living chattel thrust into the broadcast’s abattoir protruded the barracks’ only entrance and exit lined (thanks to Ianthe, no doubt) with mindless half-rotted flesh constructs. They smelled awful. Upon entering the entry hall she had insisted that a window be opened but there weren’t any windows; no tiny portals out into the world to give her so much as a taste of something new. All she had was that distant door and whatever bled through it.

Summary
On the night of the anniversary dinner, the Third and Sixth Houses end up working together—kind of, almost—with nearly good intentions to prove that neither of them were responsible for the deaths of Abigail Pent and Magnus Quinn.
Or, Gideon Nav was not paying attention and did not notice the complex, Empire-shaking, absolutely stupid political drama unfolding around her the night of the murder investigation.

Summary
Necromantic duels aren’t common on the Sixth, unless there’s an accusation of plagiarism that doesn’t get resolved through Oversight. Then it’s on, in the Lillian Sitta Memorial Lecture Hall, with everyone jockeying for position to see two hoary adepts try to maim each other with necromancy they haven’t used outside a lab in fifteen years.
