After playing ABBA song after ABBA song, along with some other white people dance songs interspersed between, she felt relieved to play something for the joy of it alone.

Lapsed into a comfortable silence again with their fingers entwined the two of them could sit and stare and wait and wait and wait, witness their entire lives stretched elastic before them: St. Samael’s and the horror of the last week-and-a-half fading distantly into the horizon behind.
The stars currently floating above the elevator shaft were bright white and so sugary sweet they hurt Gideon’s teeth. No Southern Cross though— which sucked balls. She couldn’t really turn, either, to see if even a glimpse of it was visible from her second- (more likely third-) to-last resting place.
Okay, fine, pedantics: the place where Gideon Nav was most definitely going to die.

Harrow and Ianthe did not share a point of reference when they did this, since the closest Harrow got to fiction were recitations of the Noniad (tragic), but Gideon is familiar with this story. She’s read the comics in which girls get make-overs and become worthy of desire, only to fall into bed with their long standing enemy/personal guard/childhood friend.
This is not that, though. Ianthe is just bored and drunk and wants to fuck with the nearest vulnerable person, for the sake of it, and that person happens to be Gideon.
Or, Gideon wears a dress and Ianthe fingers her in it.
