Summary
God, Ed was obsessed with that voice. Wanted to rub it all over himself, to drink it, to drown in it. To take it apart and see what it was made out of. He wondered if Izzy understood that when they sang together they were touching - voice to voice, from lungs to throat to air.
In the run-up to Calypso's party, things are tense on the Revenge. Stede is still learning how to be a captain, and a pirate. The crew don't trust him, and they certainly don't trust Ed Teach. The relationship between Izzy and Edward is strained by what they've been through, for all that Izzy and Stede are growing friendlier the more time they spend training. Ed's doing his best to make amends - to Izzy, to the ship, to everyone - and to sort his head out, but it's not easy. Meanwhile Stede and Ed are taking things slow, finding their way on shaky new ground.
While trying to work out how to fix all the things he's broken, Stede ends up asking about how Izzy and Ed met. Separately, the two of them tell him a story about pubs and pirates, about marriages and villains, shanties and sea battles, and of the Republic of Pirates itself. And for Stede, it changes everything.

Summary
Izzy doesn't realize he's started moving until he's arrived, following not only the voice, but the scent from the plane. The younger man isn't looking up, head between his knees like he's trying not to be sick. It's folly, getting down to his knees like this, knowing someone will have to help him back up, but Izzy can't bring himself to care, not when he's been waiting more than forty years for a miracle to happen.
“Why do I smell leather?” the omega mumbles, either not noticing Izzy or ignoring him entirely. “Leather and… Earl fucking Grey? Who makes tea in an airport?”
“Not me,” says Izzy, ripping his N95 off his face, trying to remember how to breathe.
Slowly, the man looks up, a pair of narrowed green eyes meeting Izzy's before quickly widening in shock. “Holy shit.” A bead of sweat runs down his face to settle in his beard. “Oh my god, it's actually you.”
“You know this guy, sweetie?” Izzy had honestly forgotten the other man even existed, and the realization settles in his stomach like a brick.

Summary
Modern AU. Lucius is a temp worker sent to a failing legal office - unbeknownst to Izzy, the only employee, whose business partner, Ed, has disappeared with his new boyfriend, Stede *expletive* Bonnet.
Lucius has no interest in filing, but working out what makes this angry little man tick is worth the £8.50 an hour.
