Ed's distantly aware of his own voice slurring into the rain. Maybe its the weed or he’s concussed from hitting his head, or maybe his survival instincts are in a more worrisome place than he thought - because the next step in his body’s plan was to bite and kick and scream, but he is struck by the singular understanding that this is a very, very beautiful man. The last thing Izzy remembered was getting shot and dying, quite painfully. At least he was pretty certain he remembered that happening. So when he woke back up on the deck of the Revenge he was all but convinced he'd landed in his own personal hell.
___________________________Or, Izzy gets flung back in time after dying, becuase what better way for the universe to say "fuck you" than to make him relive all his worst days aboard Bonnets ship. The crew hate him at present. And damn it all, he can't even blame them for it.

Neither of them have worried about money since his father died; Mary knows that even better than he does. She's bracing him for something bigger. He puts his fork down.
"The top prize is a yearlong residency. It's full support, which means a stipend and accommodations. When I was discussing this with the board, I realized we had room to do some real good, so…they'll be doing their residency here."

On the one hand, Stede's life is grinding him to dust.

He's fucking fascinated and, for the first time in a long time, excited about every new day to see what the maniac will do next.
