A story set after Clear's bad end.
It has been a year since Aoba was set on an unsteady road to recovery having endured the horrors of Platinum Jail first hand. His friends are never far away these days. They have all come so far since that terrible day, stayed strong through the long, painful months that followed.
Aoba has finally emerged from the mute depression that almost consumed him, showing glimpses of the man he used to be.
Even so, facing the reality that is the rest of his life, for himself and those around him, is a new trauma all its own.---
Hello from May 2025. I haven't updated this since 2018, so try not to hold your breath that there will be updates anytime soon..
But fate has brought me back around to Ao3 once more (You can thank Onyx Storm for that) and I recently found out that Dramatical Murder is on Steam! For the first time since I saw it played back in 2013. So you never know, inspiration is a funny old thing. When it hits you, it hits like a truck. -

It all happened on the eve of their last couple of days in Las Vegas.
It had been a good week of fun and gambling (all paid for by Noiz of course), and it had been another chance to get to know Koujaku again after a decade or so absence from Aoba's life.
Noiz had insisted that they drink to celebrate, and Aoba had at least the forethought to know it could only end badly.
He just couldn't predict how badly...

Summary
Aoba has no real home. Not since the old Church on the beach kicked him out, for reasons he isn't entirely sure of, at the tender age of 13.
A few months on and Aoba has managed to get by well enough on the rough streets of Midorijima. However his situation is starting to make things more difficult by the day.
It is all that he and the voices in his head can do but to prepare for when the time comes.

This is a fragment from a much larger story spanning Aoba's life from age 13 to 23, following at some point after Little Shadows. Aoba is 15.
Some of the canon is changed, and some other things put in for the hell of it, creating a weird and interesting new time line. This probably doesn't do it justice however.
