William’s breath stutters, chin dipping, then lifting, barely a movement, barely consent to anything at all. Michael notices, and for a moment he looks almost confused by it, by him, by the way William’s body answers even when his mouth won’t.
“Are you worried that I’ll kiss you?” Michael asks.
William looks away, but Michael follows the small dip of his chin, tracking the heat blooming up his neck.
“You are,” he says quietly, sounding like he’s finally understanding something that’s been in front of him for weeks. His gaze flicks to William’s mouth again, unmistakable, before he drags it back up. “And you’re worried I won’t.”

Those words, while there were countless times that Will had imagined hearing them come from Mike’s mouth, terrified him once reality began to sink in.
Will. His brother. His mom. All under the same roof with his lifelong best friend who he also happened to be hopelessly and deeply in love with. Not to mention his best friend’s sisters and his parents. One of whom was far less conspicuous about his views on those who were “different.”

"They're perfect," Maomao muttered to herself, and then, not seeing the flush come out high on Jinshi's cheeks when she reached out to grab him by one shoulder: "Good muscle definition. Excellent biceps. I'll bet your sternoclavicular joint is superb."

Summary

One textbook abusive relationship later, Armin has pretty much stopped believing in the concept of happiness. When being introduced to Eren Jaeger, however, he can't help himself slowly falling for the rebellious metalhead, who seems to be a bit of an enigma but might be able to teach Armin how to trust and enjoy life again.
Still - ex-partners don't just disappear and neither do the scars they caused. And no matter how perfect the idea of a relationship seems, some things you have to fight for on your own, like self-worth.
Also, no one is perfect anyway and everyone has a past - especially Eren.
But maybe it's worth it this time.

He pokes Nicky in the shoulder with the floury rolling pin he’s brandishing like a baseball bat. “Oi,” he grunts. “What’s with the ruckus?”
