T.K. hesitated before accepting Ken's invitation to join in on his and Davis's usually study session. He knew he it wasn't his place, he was butting in where he wasn't welcome, at least, by Davis. They had figured out how to get along as team members, but that didn't equate to friendship--at best he felt like Davis tolerated him. But despite knowing better, he goes along anyway and regrets it, especially when he suddenly spikes a fever.

The trees around them groaned and swayed, some branches snapping off with loud cracks. Distantly, Chan heard the splintering sound of something massive breaking—and then the unmistakable creaking of a tree beginning to fall.
His breath caught, heart freezing as he turned just in time to see a towering tree slowly beginning its descent, the roots tearing free from the trembling earth.
“Move! We have to move now!” Chan shouted, panic sharpening his voice as he hauled Jeongin to his feet, practically dragging him forward. The earth heaved again, dirt and leaves scattering as they stumbled along the unstable ground.
