Summary
After the Empire is tipped off that Spock is harboring revolutionary ideas pertaining to their rule and so they command Captain Kirk to kill him. Kirk outright refuses and now he's in their bad books too. But his first officer has a plan that just might save both their lives, even if it means kidnapping his captain and seeking refuge in another Universe until his plans for revolution are set in motion.

Summary
Jim’s orders and objectives for the next thirty days are clear: set up a base camp on the closest inhabitable planet to the Neutral Zone, gather intelligence, and assess the veracity of a Romulan defector’s claim. It is his final report that will confirm or deny a cloaked Romulan incursion into Federation space, and his final report that could lead to war.
He doesn’t have a shuttle, so he’ll rely on the Enterprise for extraction at the end of thirty days, yet that potential complication doesn’t weigh on him. Should he be in need of an emergency exit plan before the thirty days are up, the communication devices provided to him cut directly through all interference, and the Admiralty set a schedule that ensures there’s a Federation ship within two hours of the planet for every second of the next thirty days. If he needs help, it may not be the Enterprise that answers his call, but his call will be answered. Of that, Jim is sure.
By all rights, it should be the easiest mission he’s undertaken in years. In reality, the Vulcan meditating by the lake is the biggest threat he’s faced.

After drunkenly making out with a coworker at a mixer, Spock determines to follow up appropriately. Armed with research into socio-sexual behaviours and a list of expected next steps, he initiates what he expects to be a less-than-one-month casual sexual relationship, based on the averages he's observed with Jim's previous flings. He's going to get a good grade in behaving like a normal neurotypical human (something that's normal to want and possible to achieve).

"Vulcans only mate when in Pon Farr (I realize that's not canon, but work with me here). But Spock, being half-human, experiences normal human sexual urges, thoughts, arousal. From a very young age, he is taught that his desires are unnatural, freakish, horrifying. Possibly he's punished for getting an erection, waking up with sticky sheets, maybe even when someone senses he's aroused (smell, touch telepathy, whatever).
"So basically, Spock knows next to nothing about sex (except that it's Bad with a capital B) and is deeply ashamed of his desires. Cue some h/c in the form of K/S, yes? Yes."
The kinkmeme was 2009-Trek inspired, the prompt did not specify a canon. This fic is TOS canon, with TOS characterizations and episode references.
