Summary
For the first time since that awful day in early December, Akira dared to allow hope to bloom in place of the grief that had filled his body to the brim and threatened to drown him with each fruitless passing day of wishing he could have done more to reach out to the one person he failed to save time and time again.
He’d be damned to let another chance to do so slip by him again.

Summary
There is a bit of a thrill to doing something like that. Catching someone off guard and making them blush. He finds himself thoroughly pleased with this play of romance. All the world’s a stage, he thinks. Is it cruel to toy with Amamiya this way? Perhaps. On the other hand he’s having too much fun to just stop. He feels his own heart race from the adrenaline.
“Actually, are you free tomorrow? There’s this little cafè I’ve been meaning to try…” He tries to keep slightly aloof, but he finds it hard to not sound excited. “Would you like to accompany me?”

Summary
A friendly game of compliments between Ren and Goro soon escalates into a friendly game of flirting, which then escalates into a maybe too friendly game of gay chicken. That's all fine and good, except Ren's playing with a major disadvantage: he's in love with his opponent.
But it's fine. Everything's fine. Ren's not going to let something like wanting to die from his repressed feelings get in the way of their competition. After all, Goro would never forgive him if he didn't give their game everything he's got.
